Johannes Söllner

Sodatana has been founded and is solely run by Johannes Söllner. Johannes holds a PhD in genetics from the University of Vienna and has a proven scientific track record in bioinformatics and immunoinformatics method development and application. He has 20+ years in the biotech industry as employee and freelancer mostly supporting startups and a few established companies. Areas of work have mostly been selection and design of peptides, recombinant proteins and RNA, commonly but not exclusively for vaccines. Also a lot of data integration / data analysis / machine learning, a bit of IP related work as well as a number of data-platform & visualization, drug repurposing and therapeutic protein related projects. Admittedly for him the greatest joy lies in creative / innovative aspects, in close cooperation with experimental scientists and also IP attorneys.

Aside of this, Johannes believes in gentle but authentic and transparent relationships and the power of collaboration based on listening, intuition and respect. It is not just a phrase, you know.

Science communication

Communication and the connection to telling interesting stories is of importance to science and businesses alike. Relating complex subjects to children and adults fascinates me. This is my go on explaining immunoinformatics at a Science Slam in Vienna (recorded in german). Have fun watching a (somewhat) younger me.
